Resumo
Built in Goiânia, in 1978, the Privê Atlântico was designed as a housing of standard houses, which were destined for public employees and financed by Caixa Econômica de Goiás (CAIXEGO). The project was designed by the architects Silas Varizo and Edeni Reis da Silva and stands out for its architectural quality in the context of popular housing in the 1970s. In Brazil, this period was marked mainly by the production of the Banco Nacional de Habitação (BNH) which resulted in standardized and homogeneous solutions. In the opposite of this scenario, Privê’s houses were designed based on diff erent typologies and followed the principles of rationality and fl exibility from the modern movement. These houses changed over the years and mischaracterized its housing. However, despite its quality and singularity, the project had not yet been an object of study due to the lack of documentation. This article’s objective is to discuss the singularities of the houses of Privê, from the presentation of the original documents found and analyse the main characteristics and the architectural elements that make it a unique project. Thus, we seek to rescue and emphasize the importance of the design of the houses of Privê Atlântico for the modern collection of Goiás and of Brazil.
