There is a need to have more sustainable projects with vernacular elements to minimize environmental impacts. To mitigate anthropogenic actions, alternative construction techniques such as Peruvian Quincha must be applied. This construction technology represents a learning opportunity for those involved, avoiding the use of artificial materials and promoting the optimization of resources. The objectives of this research are to highlight the importance of building with the Peruvian Quincha, demonstrate its advantages and analyze this construction system. The methodology consists of a bibliographical review, field research, analysis of the Quincha technique and its stages in an experiment carried out in Aparecida of Goiânia in the state of Goiás with people of different ages, perceptions and photos. A workshop was experienced involving the Peruvian Quincha, noting its constructive step by step with manual work, amidst diverse benefits, sociability and solidarity. Bioconstructions are advisable to avoid socio-environmental damage. It is possible to learn how to create this constructive system, multiply and influence exemplary and inspiring attitudes.
Avaliação enquanto processo: um olhar sobre as disciplinas de projeto no curso de arquitetura e urbanismo

This study aims to analyze the evaluation process in design studio courses within the Architecture and Urbanism program, considering its contribution to student learning. The research adopts a qualitative approach and was conducted through a literature review, document analysis, and the administration of a semi-structured questionnaire to students and faculty members. The study is characterized as a survey, with data collection taking place between March 29 and April 10, 2025. It investigated the assessment practices adopted in design studios, the criteria used by instructors, and students’ perceptions regarding the fairness, clarity, and effectiveness of evaluations. The results reveal gaps in the evaluation process, such as the absence of objective criteria and limited feedback for continuous learning. Based on the data collected, the study proposes guidelines to improve evaluation practices in design studio courses, making them more formative, transparent, and aligned with the principles ofmeaningful learning.

This article investigates the hierarchy of factors influencing authors' decision-making when selecting a scientific journal, using data from a Brazilian journal in the field of Education to provide insights into the Brazilian national context. Given the growing competition for manuscripts and the imminent transition of the Qualis Periódicos evaluation system, understanding researchers' priorities has become fundamental for editorial sustainability. The objective is to analyze the tension between traditionalcriteria of prestige and factors of digital visibility. The methodology is based on a case study of the journal Linhas Críticas, using a mixed-methods approach with data from questionnaires (n=223) applied to its community of authors between 2020 and 2022. The quantitative analysis reveals the hegemony of Qualis Periódicos as the main selection criterion (77.6%), followed by the perceived quality of the journal and pragmatic factors such as free-of-charge policies and speed. In contrast, social media presence (13.9%) showed low impact on the initial decision. The qualitative analysis (n=86) delves deeper into this data, revealing a strong duality: while the quality of the editorial process (speed and communication) is the most praised aspect (61.6%), the bureaucracy of the submission system is the main source of dissatisfaction (22.1%). It is concluded that, although prestige attracts authors, it is operational excellence that builds their loyalty. With substantial changes to Qualis Periódicos imminent, optimizing the author's experience becomes the main strategic differentiator for the relevance and growth of journals.
Melhorar a caminhabilidade e segurança do pedestre: a busca por romper paradigmas a partir de uma intervenção de urbanismo tático em Goiânia, Brasil

The imbalance between modes of transport is a challenge in contemporary cities, especially in Brazil. Although there is a National Urban Mobility Policy that guarantees priority to pedestrians, the predominance of individual motorized transportation is still latent. Given this scenario, it was necessary to apply a strategy to demonstrate the importance of qualifying public spaces for people andto break paradigms of excessive car use. This work aims to plan, design, implement and evaluate a tactical urbanism intervention in Goiânia, based on theories and methodologies on walkability and road safety. Through a small-scale, temporary, participatory and low-cost proposal, a parking area, which is a conflicting crossing between vehicles and pedestrians, was transformed into a more walkable and safe space. This experience demonstrates the effectiveness of tactical urbanism in qualifying urban spaces for people, making them more appropriate and safe for walking. The results also contribute to changing the mindset regarding the importance of prioritizing active modes, demonstrating the need to rethink the priority of automobiles in city planning.

This paper explores how River Contracts (CDF) contribute to collaborative territorial governance by addressing both social and ecological dimensions. CDFs are voluntary tools for strategic planning and negotiation aimed at protecting water resources, enhancing riverine areas, and mitigating hydraulic risks to support local development. We examine how CDFs were institutionalized in Italy and analyse how case studies create transcalar synergies to enhance socio-ecological resilience. CDFs address issues such as Nature-Based Solutions and water use efficiency, facing climate change and building resilience by promoting water ecosystem services. We argue that CDFs transcend top-down planning by fostering a creative, performative approach, integrating social and ecological issues, adapting to local contexts, and bridging imagination and action. These flexible governance tools combine top-down coordination with bottom-up participation, facilitating conflict resolution and fostering shared actions for territorial valorisation.
River contracts as method for nature-based solutions implementation: performative planning practices in Turin metropolitan area

This paper explores the transformative potential of river contracts (RCs) to enhance nature-based solutions (NBSs) by fostering collaborative governance and integrating ecological and social priorities. RCs are methods that promote multi-scalar landscape design and stakeholder engagement, addressing governance gaps and aligning top-down policies with bottom-up initiatives. This study examines the implementation of RCs in Italy with particular focus on the Sangone and Stura di Lanzo cases, demonstrating their role in improving resilience and sustainability through shared visions and action plans. Despite challenges, such as conflicting views and bureaucracy, RCs emerge as a socio-ecological transformative method for NBS implementation.
Do quintal à rua: territorialidades dos saberes medicinais com plantas em Goiânia

This article investigates the territorialities of medicinal plant knowledge in Goiânia, analyzing its spatial reconfiguration from the domestic realm to the street. The ethnographic research focused on home gardens (quintais) and street commerce in Downtown Goiânia, employing participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and visual ethnography. Interlocutors included traditional healers (raizeiras) and street vendors. Results reveal a spectrum of resistance and adaptation practices. The home gardens asserts itself as a micro-territory of memory and refuge, whereas the street emerges as a space of multi-territorialities where subject identities are shaped by the logic of the informal economy and knowledge fragmentation. The study concludes that such knowledge does not disappear but is reinvented through a struggle for space, actively producing new territorialities in the contemporary city. Constelações da memória: ruínas e resistências no espaço urbano de Uruaçu (GO)

This article analyzes the city of Uruaçu (GO) from the perspective of the concept of the constellation of memory, formulated by Walter Benjamin and revisited by Rita Velloso. The research adopts a qualitative approach based on a constellation reading of the city, seeking to understand how temporal layers are inscribed in architectural forms and how urban space expresses tensions between permanence and forgetting. To this end, two buildings are analyzed: the former Caiçara cinema, currently unoccupied, and the city's first masonry house, built in 1910 and still inhabited by the founder's family. The analysis of these buildings, articulated with the contributions of Benjamin, Lefebvre, and Debord, shows that the city reveals the coexistence of different temporalities in urban space. It concludes that the constellation reading allows us to recognize the presence of urban memories inscribed in everyday buildings, broadening the debate on cultural references and processes of erasure in urban space.
A ilustração crítica e a luta antimanicomial: um estudo sobre a função social do design gráfico

This research aimed to understand, from the field of social design, how illustration can be used as a critical tool in the fight against asylums. The methodology emphasized the quantitative and qualitative aspects, based on bibliographic, exploratory and descriptive research methods. Through this structure, it was possible to study and understand the fight against asylums, based on the thoughts of Michel Foucault, who sees asylums as a tool that marginalizes, segregates and isolates people who are judged as outside the standards of “normality”. To conclude, the investigation used the fundamentals of graphic design, where critical illustration was the main core for materializing the message. The theme adopted for the awareness campaign was: “Isolation is not treatment”. Thus, the visual proposal demonstrated how graphic design can be a communication tool capable of promoting reflection through discourses aimed at various social causes.
Do rastro ao rumo: migração, fluxos e sertão transbiomático

This article deals with issues related to migration and identity crisis. It is a personal account of the migration of the author, who, after living for more than forty years in the state of São Paulo, moved to Goiânia to take up a position as a permanent professor in the Visual Arts course at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). The aim of this text is to investigate how questions of identity arise during this migratory process, highlighting the relationships of belonging associated with the cultures experienced in São Paulo, the Northeastern origins (Bahia) and the impact of these references on the construction of a migrant “self”. The approach used is autoethnography, based on the theoretical reflections on identity proposed by Stuart Hall (2006), Edward S. Casey's concept of the body as a world-place (2001a) and the author's personal experiences as a patient ofschizoanalysis, based on Deleuze and Guattari. The concept of geo-identity crisis is explored not as an obstacle, but as a creative opportunity that influences both artistic practice and academic research. The conclusion is that the body, as it transits through different territories and ecologies, acquires multiple layers of meaning and constructs hybrid identities. In this sense, the notion of the sertão is proposed as an experience that crosses different biomes and contexts. This study aims to contributeto discussions on migration, belonging and artistic creation, suggesting that the sertão (backwoods) can be understood and experienced through various poetic, political, ethical and affective intersections.KEYWORDS: migration, autoethnography, geo-identity crisis, hybrid identities, backwoods.
Estética da manipulação: interações enganosas, ilusão de escolha e performatividade das interfaces

La interfaz gráfica, como artefacto de interacción casi omnipresente hoy en día, merece su lugar de estudio dentro de la cultura y específicamente dentro de la cultura visual, especialmente con respecto a sus implicaciones culturales y sociales. El término "interfaz" describe una intersección o conexión entre diferentes sistemas informáticos que hace uso de componentes de hardware y programas de software para permitir el intercambio y la transmisión de información digital a través de protocolos de comunicación. La interfaz también describe la conexión entre el ser humano y la máquina en la que el usuario humano interactúa como medio para operar e influir en los componentes de software y hardware de un sistema digital. Una interfaz permite a los humanos comunicarse con tecnologías digitales, así como generar, recibir e intercambiar datos, conocidas como interfaces gráficas de usuario. Existe pues toda una «cultura de la interfaz» tal como la encarna Steve Johnson (1999), que merece ser considerada, estudiada, difundida y debatida en el seno de la comunidad académica, sobre todo porque constituye un campo importante en el campo de la producción de imágenes y de las imágenes técnicas, su fructificación, sus implicaciones socioculturales, cognitivas y la producción de significados. Por supuesto, no todas las interfaces son gráficas, imaginarias o representativas. Este artículo, sin embargo, es una primera iniciativa para abordar algunos de estos aspectos e insertar la interfaz, a través de un enfoque multifacético de la tecnología y la mitología de las máquinas, comparándola con la magia, la ilusión y la performance, y cuestionando nuestra creencia en la tecnología, sobre todo, la naturaleza performativa de estas interacciones. Al discutir todas estas cuestiones, se entrelazan varias disciplinas para determinar qué autoridad corresponde a temas como la filosofía de la inteligencia artificial y los artefactos predecesores de las computadoras actuales. Éste es el terreno impreciso de la transdisciplinariedad: un terreno arenoso, donde se pretende discutir algunos aspectos filosóficos, pero toca la cognición, las interfaces y la interacción humana, la filosofía de las máquinas, pero sobre todo: la ilusión, la magia y el carácter performativo que permea estas disciplinas. Después de todo, la tecnología puede no ser muy diferente de la magia, pero ambas ocurren sólo en “tiempos” y “etapas” diferentes. La ilusión y la performance, como se pretende argumentar, llenan los vacíos allí donde la tecnología no actúa, porque no es infalible, sino parte de un proceso ilusorio de cómo la entendemos y cómo llena los vacíos de nuestra vida cotidiana. La tecnología es una herramienta que necesita sostener las expectativas humanas de remediar los problemas humanos, pero para avanzar, debemos creer en la ilusión que creamos para nosotros mismos. Aquí es donde la ilusión y los aspectos mágicos y performativos de la tecnología toman su lugar como medio para comprender la interacción humana con las máquinas, las interfaces físicas, cognitivas y perceptivas. Para corroborar este argumento se utilizan como elementos de analogía la máquina conocida como “El Turco”, así como otras máquinas históricas.
Segredos do cerrado: guia de design de personagens do folclore goiano

The article presented here investigated how graphic projects can strengthen the social role of graphic design by valuing regional culture. Through exploratory and bibliographical research, folk legends belonging to the State of Goiás were studied and character designs were created for an illustrated guide. The proposal is that the illustrated guide will help keep local culture alive, that it will be used as research material for people interested in the subject and that it will contribute to filling the lack of visual projects that deal with the representation of Goiás folklore.
Regularização fundiária em APPs estudo de caso da Vila João Brás em Trindade – GO

This article addresses the complex interaction between urban development and environmental conservation, focusing on the occupation of the Permanent Preservation Area (APP) of the Bruacas Stream, notably in the Vila João Brás sector in Trindade-GO. The neighborhood faces considerable challenges in environmental management and urban space occupation, raising questions about how to reconcile land regularization and urban planning to ensure the preservation of ecosystems. The discussion highlights the geopolitical relevance of water, vital for life, and the growing challenges arising from rapid. Amid the Brazilian water crisis, especially in metropolitan regions like Goiânia, occupations in environmental preservation areas become an additional challenge for urban management. The article aims to analyze the situation of the Vila João Braz sector, consolidated along the banks of the Bruacas River, considering historical legislations that once outlined urban planning in the vicinity of watercourses. Additionally, it intends to examine the urban and environmental impacts of occupations in the APP of the Bruacas Stream in the Vila João Brás sector, fostering a reflection about the influence and impacts of land regularization in permanent preservation areas.
O uso de inteligência artificial no processo de projeto nos escritórios internacionais de arquitetura

Considering that architecture has been profoundly impacted by technological advancements and that artificial intelligence (AI) emerges as a disruptive tool in the field, the objective is to understand how AI is being utilized in the architectural design process by renowned firms such as Zaha Hadid Architects and Foster + Partners. To this end, the study analyzes interviews, case studies, and practical experiments with AI software such as Midjourney, DALL-E 3, and Stable Diffusion, aiming to explore their applications and impacts on creative processes.In this context, it is observed that AI plays a significant role in optimizing processes and expanding architectural creativity, enabling the generation of innovative forms. Tools like Midjourney and DALL-E 3 offer accessibility and speed, while the more technical Stable Diffusion stands out for its customization capabilities. These advancements allow architects to combine technology and creativity, creating more efficient and bold solutions. The study concludes that, although AI expands possibilities in design, its effective use depends on technical expertise and strategies that balance innovation with the preservation of intellectual property.
A paisagem urbana da rua 20 em Goiânia: entre memórias, histórias, transformações e disputas

This article proposes a discussion about the symbolic, historical, and architectural content of 20th Street, in the Central Sector of Goiânia, and the recent processes that have impacted it. The goal is to analyze some of the transformations that have occurred in its original urban landscape and the resulting erasures. The hypothesis is that the recent availability of properties for sale on this street — including buildings from the city’s construction period — has led to demolitions, uninhabited spaces, and replacements, such as vertical developments, introducing new categories into its contemporary landscape. These changes arise from a lack of knowledge about its original values and, primarily, from the absence of policies aimed at maintaining and revitalizing the historic center. References on the subject and the object of analysis were consulted from both historical and documentary perspectives, along with cartographic studies of the urban space. The historiographic methodology was applied to guide the understanding of the state of the art and to construct the intended discussions. Finally, this article seeks to demonstrate the importance and role of 20th Street in Goiânia’s history and draw attention to the transformations and erasures that have occurred in the landscape of this street, as processes resulting from territorial exploitation policies..
A rua em fragmentos: sobreposições temporais como narrativas históricas espacializadas em Cuiabá (MT)

his article aims to test an aspect of the master’s research focusing on the formal characteristics that make up Rua 13 de Junho, a transition area between Zones of Historical Interest (ZIH) in Cuiabá. New narratives are designed to study the landscape of this path between the Old Center – ZIH 1 and the Porto Waterfront – ZIH 2, which contribute to the perception of the transformations of functions over time, as well as to think about the practical impacts that fall on reminiscent materiality. Currently the road is perceived in fragments, a factor that instigates an investigative journey that explores other ways of understanding this landscape. The work begins with some considerations about permanence and modifications, focused on the context of form to understand temporal overlaps. In a second moment, the gaze will be turned to the fissures of everyday life, as a means of seeing beyond what is seen: a reflective process of what the form communicates to us, whether thinking about these “roughnesses” as resistance, or as mismatches in relation to the dynamics of the city. The underused areas, in the section in question, are (old) forms manifested through ruins and vacant lots. These phenomena, by revealing the logic of the formation of the urban nucleus, are the product of possible processes addressed here as a means of provocation. Finally, a counter-cartographic exercise is presented to think about spatiality in a more questioning way, indicating possibilities for historical investigation based on its inflections.
