Resumo
Banana plants significantly increase their productivity when there is regular soil water availability, which can be controlled with irrigation. An economically viable irrigation system is the one that has the most benefits when compared to non-irrigated production, and the benefit generated by increased productivity is greater than the increase in production cost caused by the implementation and operation of the irrigation system. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the economic viability of the use of micro sprinkler irrigation in banana cultivars. A randomized block design with four replications in a 2x4 factorial scheme (2 water regimes: irrigated and non-irrigated; and 4 cultivars: BRS Japira, SH3640 Grauda, BRS Platina and BRS Conquista) was used. For each treatment, the following economic indicators were calculated: Production Cost, Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Payback and Benefit-Cost. The use of irrigation ensured more relevant economic returns for the cultivars BRS Japira, SH3640 Grauda and BRS Platina. The cultivar BRS Conquista presented higher viability without irrigation. Thus, it is concluded that there is economic viability for banana irrigation in the central region of the state of Goiás, however, it should be considered which cultivar will be used.
