A linguagem cartográfica em livros didáticos de Geografia: aproximações entre a linguística e a cartografia

Abstract

This text aims to reflect on the concept of cartographic language in dialogue with the knowledge of Linguistics from the references present in the textbooks of Geography. The perspective of cartographic language comprises representations in the relation to contents, themes and activities in textbooks, while moving away from illustrative presentations and the poor communication between the different languages contained in these materials. Thus, the relevance that the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) devoted to this concept is evoked, presenting it as the proper language of Geography. In this sense, it is questioned what the cartographic language is, what are the contributions of linguistics in its analysis and how its understanding favors the teaching of Geography. Finally, a reflection is proposed on how the discussions on cartographic language would be qualified through the Call Notice of the National Program for Books and Didactic Materials (PNLD).

Este texto pretende reflexionar sobre el concepto de lenguaje cartográfico en diálogo con el conocimiento de la Lingüística a partir de las referencias presentes en los libros de texto de Geografía. La perspectiva del lenguaje cartográfico comprende representaciones con relación a contenidos, temas y actividades en los libros de texto, alejándose de las presentaciones ilustrativas y mal comunicadas de los diferentes lenguajes contenidos en estos materiales. Así, se evoca la relevancia que la Base Curricular Común Nacional (BNCC) dedicó a este concepto, presentándolo como el lenguaje propio de la Geografía. En este sentido, se cuestiona qué es el lenguaje cartográfico, cuáles son los aportes de la lingüística en su análisis y cómo su comprensión favorece la enseñanza de la Geografía. Finalmente, se propone una reflexión sobre cómo se matizarían las discusiones sobre lenguaje cartográfico a través de la Convocatoria del Programa Nacional de Libros y Materiales Didácticos (PNLD).
