Resumo
Among a variety of solutions indicated for reducing the environmental problems present
nowadays is the rational management of water resources. This managerial process
should be started by the awareness and involvement of water consumers and a political
structure that rules over the usage of the water resources maily in areas where shortage
is the detected. It is believed that one of the main policies to be implemented is charge
of water usage. The economists have been developing price setting models for each
consumer segment. This work, based on literature review, intend to bring the readers
to reflect about the theme that is considered polemic and unknown for most of the
population.
