Vincular: arquitetura como elo entre gerações

Abstract

The aim of this work is to develop the concept of an in￾tergenerational center that promotes integration betwe￾en childhood and old age within the same physical and symbolic space, using architecture as an essential tool for building bonds, belonging, and exchange among diffe￾rent generations. The proposal is based on the union of three fundamental cores — a daycare center, a long-term care institution for the elderly, and shared living spaces — which together form a fabric of sensitive relationships.This project stems from the understanding that play, more than just an activity of childhood, is a universal, power￾ful, and sensitive language capable of bridging ages and creating connections between worlds often separated by current institutional logic. In this sense, it is believed that designed spaces can act as active mediators of these encounters, providing material, symbolic, and emotional support for the flowering of genuine bonds. Through this approach, the proposal invites a rethinking of the ways of inhabiting, caring, and playing, embracing the power of human relationships to transform spaces — and, through them, life experiences.
