Estudo da desertificação em Gilbués-Piauí: caracterização física, variabilidade climática e impactos ambientais

Abstract

This work represents a preliminary evaluation of aspects related to the Geographic and its relation to the environment, allies with the spatial distribution of physical elements such as climate, soil, vegetation, topography and hydrography. the aim is, the aim is to characterize, understand and elucidate the influence of these elements, checking whether there is any relationship with desertification. The study area is located in the municipality of Gilbués-PI, in northeastern of Brazil. It is considered in this article, the morphological and climatic variations associated with strong local rainfall erosivity and erodibility of their soils assume greater expressiveness in conditions of desertification. In other words, the causes of desertification in Gilbués are part of a complex series of relationships of natural events. Thus, it is necessary to analyze the physical basis of the magnitude of desertification and to add knowledge in an attempt to minimize environmental impacts and the drama of social groups in urban and rural areas who live in arid and semiarid regions, including roughly, the core of Desertification Gilbués and several other locations in Brazil.
