Resumo
The commercial expansion and the development of health preservation techniques provided an increase in the production of cosmetics and the generation of effluents in this sector. This article evaluated the treatment efficiency of a cosmetics industry that uses a conventional treatment system composed by: septic tank, biological filter and sinks achievingan average efficiency of removal of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) of 45.48%, Chemical Demand Oxygen (COD) 36.80% and Oils and Greases 51.00%. The removals of the values of analyzed environmental parameters need improvement presenting at severaltimes outside the standards required by the applicable legislation CONAMA 430/2011 and NBR 9800/1987. Consequently, it is necessary to implemente an integration of treatment technologies for the remediation of the effluent generated by the cosmetic industrial segment.
