This work aims to demonstrate how the representation of the deadly sin of envy occurs within the medieval
bestiary tradition. We selected the chapter about onagro, present in the work The book of beasts: being a
translation from a latin bestiary of the twelfth century, translated and edited by Terence Hanbury White.
