Território quilombola, etnodesenvolvimento e turismo no nordeste de Goiás

Abstract

The Kalunga, African descendants, are traditional people who have theircommunities in Historical and Cultural Heritage Site Kalunga, at northeast of Goiás, the tourism activity in the community of Kalunga has been introduced since the 2000s, with more force in the community Engenho II. The methodology used the data from somesites, reading reports and dissertations about the theme and conducting interviews in the procedure of action research, beyond to reflecting on the integration of tourism and its political, economic and social impacts even in the kalunga perception, it was considered important to reflect the tourism in the Kalunga to the light of ethno-development. The presented results are derived from analysis made in Engenho II community. We conclude that Kalunga conceive that tourism as a promoter of better living for some and there is interest in this activity; however, the presence of tourists in the site is not due to ethno-tourism, in their opinion currently the tourism favors the enrichment of some aggravating social fissures, the possibilities for strengthening tourism and make the social inclusion of Kalunga depends on empowerment of Association.
