O negacionismo implícito como mecanismo da racionalidade instrumental: do fundamento à fragmentação do pacto civilizatório

Abstract

Many researches present negationism in its naked and raw form, clear and evident justifying, thus, extreme behaviors in opposition to reality. In contrast, this research proposes to think about the negationism operated through instrumental rationality, the one that, considering reality, indirectly echoes the logic that is responsible, so often, for the reproduction of violence that sustains, even veiledly, the real. This phenomenon can be observed, not exclusively, but also in the discourses on self-care that circulated during the peak of the pandemic, that is, in the discourses and practices on care taken about individual mental health that are sustained by an abstract logic, operating to the detriment of collective health. We seek to understand to what extent this individualistic conduct, expressed in forms of implicit negationism, is linked to the instrumental rationality that, since Modernity, affirms and reproduces in its logic, the false division between individual and society. This fact leads to the need to understand the constitution of this historical period and of the modern subject, and points to some degree of decline of the civilizing pact, leaving as a legacy the reproduction of forms of violence, even if veiled and not explicit. We also investigate, therefore, how negationism and its unfoldings are configured as instruments of expression and maintenance of the prevailing mode of organization of this society.
