Resumo

In this article we examine the visibilities, that are discursively produced, about the sexual identification of men in search of other men for affective-sexual interactions in dating apps. The analysis aims to discuss the “male/female” binary grammar reproduced online, which frames sexual visibilities and, with this, value men seen as males. We consider data produced from 2017 to 2021 in online research on user profiles of Grindr and Scruff –both found in online stores for mobile applications. Following Deleuze's observation about Michel Foucault's archaeological method, we consider, in the face of the problem related to homoaffective and gender relations, the focuses of power/resistance as enablers of the formation of the corpus that focused on the online dispute "male vs gay", observed in 580 prints of self-descriptions of users of the two apps. The reflections on the Foucauldian archaeological method and the Deleuzian considerations, which place sayabilities and visibilities as in constant reciprocal captures under a primacy of the enunciation, allowed us to understand how the valuations about subjects are configured to make them see, in their bodily functioning, the visibility of heterosexual virility.
