Resumo
This essay approaches the life path of those West Parana workers, that belonged
to caboclas and paraguaians families, who, in the 1940s, migrated to the countryside of
Toledo, state of Parana. The aim here is to discuss these people’s local stories, and to give
visibility to those who changed their homes to go to that place to work, instead of becoming
a rural or urban property owner; people who are generally forgotten in the city’s memories.
With the method of Oral History, it is possible to analyze the narrators’ minds, specially
their dialogues concerning the city’s public memories. At the end, it is possible to infer that
the past recollections show fights for space held by these people and their social groups, as
well as that memory is considered a politic and social dispute fields.
