Entre a água e a madeira: Grimpas, um centro cultural em madeira laminada colada em Hidrolândia

Abstract

This paper proposes the design of a cultural center with a glued-laminated timber structure, located in the Village dos Ipês neighborhood of Hidrolândia, Goiás. The proposal aims to address the city's lack of cultural facilities by creating a sustainable, multifunctional space dedicated to leisure, education, and artistic expression. The program includes an auditorium, classrooms, rehearsal rooms, a library, exhibition spaces, a cafeteria, and common areas. The project emphasizes the local context and integrates technical and sensory aspects, focusing on environmental comfort and the connection with the surroundings, especially the lake that serves as the project’s base.
