Resumo

In this paper gadolinium doped CoGdxFe2-xO4 MNPs with the presence of nitrogen residue at the interstitial sites were synthesized with combustion reaction techniques. The XRD data revealed an increase in the lattice parameters and strain in the crystal structure. The particle size and microstrain parameters were determined using the Williamson -Hall techniques. The FTIR spectra established the effect of doping on the increment of the reduced mass parameter of the system. The magnetic properties revealed an increment of the magnetic moment with the Gd dopping, especially at the sub-zero temperatures. The thermal energy directly affected the magnetic moments at high temperatures. The magnetocrystalline anisotropy decreases with doping of Gd3+ substitution on to counterbalance the effect of doping. The results highlight a possible way to modify cobalt ferrite MNPs especially for hyperthermia applications. The CFO NPs can essentially replace the existing iron oxide NPs for these kinds of applications.
