Sujeitos informacionais em bibliotecas universitárias jurídicas

Abstract

This article analyzes the profile of information subjects in university law libraries, focusing on the preferences and needs of users who frequent these libraries. The research aims to understand the characteristics of information subjects, in addition to identifying their preferences when accessing legal information. The methodology used was quantitative and descriptive, with the application of a structured questionnaire to collect data on sociodemographic profile, type and format of materials, purpose of use, as well as satisfaction with the resources available in the libraries. The data collected revealed that information subjects still prefer printed materials, such as books, although they also use digital sources to access content such as legislation and case law. The main purpose of using the library is academic, with most respondents seeking resources for theoretical deepening and carrying out academic work. The results indicate that most users are satisfied with the available resources, however there is room for improvement, especially with regard to updating the collection.
