Resumo
This work is a study on religion, communication and homosexuality. The article is the product of an extensive empirical research by the participant observation method on the Movement Cores, an evangelical group linked to Lagoinha Baptist Church, in the city of Belo Horizonte, MG, focused exclusively on the LGBT + community. Based on the theory of interactive devices (Braga, 2011), the religious context that determines the conditions of existence and permanence of this community within a conservative church was demonstrated: the invisibility imposed on the community and its leader, promoted in cooperation with the movement itself; and subaltern relationships, which specify a negotiation of meanings through the term “solteirice”, in which identity is accepted by the negation of sexuality.
