Análise da prevalência de dislipidemia em adolescentes atendidos em um laboratório escola

Resumo

The objective of the study was to analyze the prevalence of dyslipidemias in adolescents attended at the school laboratory of a federal university. This is a retrospective study that used secondary data from tests comprising the lipid profile in patients aged 10 to 19 years from January to December 2023. A total of 612 adolescents were analyzed, with a prevalence of 54.7% dyslipidemic individuals, where about 32.3% had hypertriglyceridemia, 26.6% hypercholesterolemia, 25% had HDL levels below the desired, and 15.8% had increased LDL levels. The analysis of the results also showed higher lipid alterations in females (30.4%) than in males (24.3%). The high percentage of dyslipidemias in childhood and adolescence points to the need for effective public policies and strategies for prevention, early detection, and adequate treatment so that adverse effects related to cardiovascular diseases are minimized in the adult life of the population.
