Resumo

The present study proposes to understand the relationship between Chess and the school, searching the main academic journals and databases. It seeks to understand the interfaces on the pedagogical presence of Chess in Physical Education classes at school. The methodology used consists of an integrative bibliographic survey. Six empirical studies were selected that bring great baggage to our research. The literature shows that Chess has due importance in the school context and in human experience. Studiesindicate that it is not simply a game to pass the time, on the contrary, everyone pointed out the great richness that the game has in aspects of developing the practitioner's cognitive capacity, providing several benefits. In addition, Chess can be understood as an ally of professionals in the teaching-learning process, not only in Physical Education, but in other disciplines such as Mathematics, Geography and Art, thus, as a multidisciplinary pedagogical instrument at school. It is concluded that the Physical Education teacher needs to understand the importance of Chess content in their classes and the possibilities of using it in an interdisciplinary way at school.
