(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2025-06-13) Alencar Júnior, Osman Ferreira de; Abib, Leonardo Trapaga; Abib, Leonardo Trapaga; Guimarães, Juracy da Silva; Souza, Nilva Pessoa de
This study aimed to investigate, understand, and analyze how specific training programs for handball goalkeepers have been structured and implemented in the state of Goiás, encompassing different sporting contexts. The research considered athletes active in three distinct categories of the sport: university handball, youth levels (up to 21 years old), and adult competitive level. Data collection was conducted through a structured, self-administered online questionnaire using the Google Forms platform. The instrument addressed three main areas: the profile of the target group, logistical aspects related to training activities, and the degree of specificity of practices aimed exclusively at the goalkeeper position. The research has a qualitative approach and a exploratory character. The information collected was organized, analyzed, and discussed based on existing scientific literature. This approach enabled a deeper understanding of the reality faced by these athletes. The analysis revealed significant gaps in how specific goalkeeper training is planned and conducted, highlighting a lack of systematic and targeted strategies for the demands of the goalkeeper position in handball. Additionally, relevant differences were observed across the analyzed contexts, particularly regarding time commitment, available resources, and the value attributed to the goalkeeper’s role within teams. The findings indicate the need for greater attention from coaches, institutions, and sports organizations in preparing these athletes, considering their strategic importance in collective performance. This study offers a relevant contribution to the field of Physical Education and to the development of handball in the state of Goiás, proposing paths for improving training practices and encouraging future research on the topic.

The presence of women in sports, although growing over the last few decades, still faces significant obstacles related to gender inequality, visibility, and professional recognition. In this scenario, social networks emerge as powerful spaces for image building, career projection, and engagement with the public, especially in sports with low media coverage, such as women's handball. In this context, understanding how the sports careers of the athletes of the Brazilian handball team relate to their digital visibility is essential to rethink strategies for promoting women's sports in Brazil. Thus, this study aimed to analyze how the careers and sports careers of these athletes influence their presence on social networks, especially on Instagram, and how this visibility impacts their professional opportunities, the recognition of handball, and the promotion of gender equality in sports. The research adopts a qualitative approach, based on semi-structured interviews supported by the Timeline methodological resource, in addition to the analysis of Google Trends data to assess public interest in the sport. The results indicate that, although social media allows athletes greater autonomy in constructing their image, visibility is still occasional, unstable and dependent on major events. Furthermore, digital recognition is not distributed equally among players, being conditioned by factors such as sports performance, institutional support, charisma and mastery of communication tools. The analysis also highlighted the impact of variables such as gender, motherhood, body and leadership, which permeate the athletes' experience and directly influence their permanence and appreciation in the sports scene. This study contributes to the debate on gender inequality in sports and reinforces the importance of public policies and communication strategies that promote equity, visibility and protagonism of female athletes.

The promotion of workers' health has been challenged by labor contexts marked by productivity intensification and precarious working conditions. In this scenario, Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (ICHP), with emphasis on body practices, emerge as powerful care strategies. This qualitative and descriptive study aimed to analyze the limits and possibilities of integrative body practices in promoting workers' health at a public reference unit for integrative medicine in the State of Goiás, Brazil. The methodology was based on documentary analysis of nine supervised internship reports in Physical Education carried out between 2023 and 2024. The results show that the unit’s multiprofessional environment, along with the "Bem-viver no Trabalho" project, allowed students to experience practices such as meditation, yoga, and playful dynamics, promoting benefits such as stress reduction and enhanced body awareness. It is concluded that the role of Physical Education professionals can be expanded in workers' health, especially when integrating ICHP knowledge into their practice, contributing to more integrative, humanized, and reflective care within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS).

Gymnastics is a comprehensive and diverse practice, encompassing modalities like conditioning, competition, physiotherapy, body awareness, and demonstration. Its foundations are rooted in natural movements, with a particular focus on the handstand, a complex exercise found in various physical practices such as circus arts and dance. However, existing literature offers limited references for teaching and learning methodologies for this skill. To address this gap, this research aimed to develop a methodological synthesis for handstand teaching and learning by analyzing physical education didactic materials. The study employed a literature review, valuing its efficiency in terms of cost and access to information, despite challenges in source availability and the need for critical reading. The process involved selecting and analyzing didactic materials from the curriculum components of Physical Education pedagogical projects in public institutions in Goiânia (GO) for the year 2025. Initially, 42 gymnastics-related materials were identified; however, due to unavailability, only 32 were accessible. After refinement, focusing exclusively on works about handstand teaching and learning, 9 bibliographic references were selected. The next step involved detailed cataloging of these materials, including summaries and relevant citations, to organize information and enable an in-depth critical analysis. The theoretical underpinning of the research is the information processing theory, which understands motor learning as an interdependent perceptual-motor system. Efficient handstand execution depends on the precision of sensory stimuli perception—involving the visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems—and the coordination of motor responses in five stages: capture, integration, processing, execution, and movement evaluation. Learning this skill is a non-linear and individualized process, influenced by biological, environmental, and task factors, manifesting across psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains, with training being crucial for its improvement. Biomechanically, the handstand requires the body to form a continuous straight line, with extended arms, flexed shoulders, joined legs, a straightened spine, and fine balance control through the hands and wrists, in addition to muscle tone. Its learning is gradual and systematic, progressing from static exercises and weight transfers to wall support and assistance, culminating in kicks-up or press-ups. Correcting common errors is fundamental for mastering this complex skill. This work aims to stimulate the gradual development of motor response stages and sensory systems, emphasizing the importance of prior experience and safety. This significantly contributes to handstand instruction, integrating biomechanical requirements, body alignment, and error correction for the development of a fundamental gymnastics skill.

Throughout its history, leisure has arisen from a direct relationship with the concept of leisure, which in turn was restricted to the social elites in ancient civilizations. Work, on the other hand, played a fundamental role in human survival, through its interaction with nature. However, with the rise of capitalism, work became alienated and assumed a central position, reorganizing time away from work around the demands of the market. As a result, the 1988 Constitution made leisure a social right. In this way, the study focuses on investigating how public leisure policies are developed in the municipality of Anicuns- GO, analyzing their organization, implementation and impact on the local population. Thus, the research is qualitative and exploratory, based on the few documents available, direct observations and oral sources. The results show that although Anicuns has spaces with great potential for leisure activities, many are in a precarious state, reflecting failures in planning and maintenance. In addition, investments are mostly concentrated on traditional sporting events and practices, limiting access to diversified activities. Finally, the study highlights the need for more effective public policies that promote leisure as a right, respecting local cultural identity and meeting the needs of the population.

Despite the existence of public policies aimed at promoting sports, such as the Sports Incentive Law, there is a gap between what is provided for in the legislation and the actual allocation of resources, which compromises the execution of many sports projects at various levels. Among the government initiatives aimed at promoting sports, Law No. 11,438/2006, known as the Sports Incentive Law, stands out, which allows the allocation of part of the income tax owed by individuals and legal entities to previously approved sports projects. Despite representing an important support mechanism for the sector, its effectiveness is often compromised by administrative obstacles and the unequal distribution of resources. This Final Course Completion Work, carried out within the scope of the undergraduate degree in Physical Education at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), at the Faculty of Physical Education and Dance, has as its theme "AANA's actions to guarantee its continuity and expansion in the sports field", and aims to understand the trajectory of the Associação Atlética Neurologia Ativa (AANA), in addition to its social actions, sporting achievements and strategies to guarantee the continuity and growth of the team. The research was developed using a qualitative methodology, with a bibliographical approach, using as main sources the current legislation on sports incentives, the book Basketball in Santa Cruz do Sul, by Gilmar Fernando Weis, and a semi-structured interview with the former president and founder of AANA. It was through this interview that information was obtained about the social project "Corpo e Mente Ativa", linked to the team, which works to promote social inclusion through sports. AANA has established itself as a regional reference not only for its performance in volleyball, but also for its commitment to social responsibility and the positive impact it has on the community. The strategies adopted by the association demonstrate consistent planning aligned with the principles of sports management, highlighting the transformative role of sports as a tool for inclusion, health and citizenship. The study reinforces the importance of public policies to promote sports and the articulation between private initiative, public authorities and social organizations for the continuity of projects that positively impact the community.

The practice of soccer in high school Physical Education classes remains marked by gender inequalities that directly impact female student participation. This study aimed to analyze the social, cultural, and pedagogical factors influencing female students’ engagement in school-based soccer. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research was conducted with students from the Federal Institute of Goiás – Inhumas campus, through structured questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with 12th-grade female students. Quantitative data were analyzed using absolute and relative frequencies, while interview responses were interpreted using Bardin’s Content Analysis. The results indicated that, although teachers offer encouragement and institutional space for mixed-gender activities exist, persistent barriers continue to discourage female participation. Key factors included fear of injury, feelings of technical inferiority, derogatory comments from male peers, and a lack of prior sports experiences during childhood. Many girls reported participating in soccer classes out of obligation rather than genuine interest, reinforcing the perception of soccer as a predominantly male sport. Participants’ suggestions emphasized methodological adaptations, such as cooperative games, balanced mixed-gender teams, representation of female role models in sports, and the creation of a respectful and inclusive environment. The study concludes that promoting gender equity in school soccer requires sensitive pedagogical strategies, teacher engagement, and structural changes in the educational context. These findings contribute to the ongoing debate on gender and sports in education, offering insights for more inclusive practices aligned with the guidelines of Brazil’s National Common Curricular Base.

This study aimed to analyze the performance of Physical Education professionals in Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) through a bibliographic review of academic productions published between 2010 and 2025. The choice of the theme arose from the perception that, despite the inclusion of these professionals in public mental health policies, their performance still presents gaps in terms of institutional recognition, work structure, and the definition of their therapeutic role. The methodology adopted was qualitative, with a descriptive design and narrative approach. Eighteen articles were selected, available in Portuguese, free access, and that directly addressed the performance of Physical Education in CAPS of different modalities. The data were organized into three thematic axes: (1) performance of the professional in CAPS for children and adolescents; (2) contributions to psychosocial treatment and rehabilitation; and (3) most offered body practices and the structural conditions of the services. In the first axis, there was a shortage of studies focused on children and adolescents, although the few that were found highlighted the relevance of physical practices in emotional expression and in building bonds. In the second axis, the results indicate that the practices developed by physical educators favor autonomy, routine organization and social integration of users, especially when aligned with the Singular Therapeutic Projects (PTS). In the third axis, the most frequent activities were easy to perform, such as soccer, walking, dancing and games. However, structural limitations - such as the lack of adequate rooms and materials - make it difficult to continue the actions. It is concluded that the role of Physical Education in CAPS is significant for mental health care, but still faces challenges that require greater investment, specific training and institutional recognition.

(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2025-06-16) Watanabe, Mateus Toyama; Zandominegue, Bethânia Alves Costa; Zandominegue, Bethânia Alves Costa; Carneiro, Juliana Alves; Kiouranis, Taiza Daniela Seron
This work aims to understand the importance of dance as a pedagogical tool in the training of Physical Education teachers. The research adopted the autobiographical narrative as its theorical - methodological approach, allowing the reflective analysis of the journey experienced with dance before and during graduation in Physical Education. Based on this trajectory, we sought to identify effective pedagogical strategies for the inclusion of dance in the teacher training curriculum. The results indicate that dance goes beyond the field of choreography and costume design, constituting a significant practice for human, social and professional development. Through dance, values such as respect, ethics, empathy, leadership and overcoming are promoted, contributing to the comprehensive training of future teachers. It is concluded that dance should not be neglected in initial training, as it enriches pedagogical practices, expands the role of the Physical Education teacher and contributes to valuing the diversity present in body culture. Furthermore, it helps to deconstruct stereotypes associated with teaching, reinforcing the image of the educator as a critical, creative professional committed to a more plural and meaningful education.

The use of social media has become part of the daily routine for a large portion of the population. With the advancement of artificial intelligence, it is increasingly necessary to analyze how the virtual environment shapes individuals. Accordingly, this study examines the relationship between artificial intelligence and photo-editing filters and socially established beauty standards, given that the use of these tools has become normalized, yet the ways in which this fictional reality impacts users’ mental and physical health are rarely discussed. This is, therefore, a bibliographic study. The discussion presented reveals that the feeling of comparison, generated by the excessive presence of images of perfect bodies on the internet, directly informs how people are perceived and judged in a society that values appearance over intellect. Such a scenario reinforces feelings of inadequacy in those who do not conform to the socially established aesthetic ideal. The implications of this issue are evident in the substantial increase in cosmetic surgeries for aesthetic purposes, particularly among women and, prematurely, among adolescents. The obsession with an unattainable perfection, driven by Instagram beauty filters and carefully artificialized images, updates and reinforces the rigid logic of beauty standards—contributing to the formation of psychologically ailing individuals.

This study aims to investigate, based on the academic and personal life trajectory, the experiences with dance and the effects that these experiences had on the personal development and professional training in the area of Physical Education. Through the autobiographical narrative, we seek to understand how these moments influenced the perceptions, behaviors and choices of the future teacher. The question that guides the study is: in what way do previous experiences with dance and their integration during the undergraduate course in Physical Education influence the personal and professional development of students, and how can these interfaces contribute to the formation of professionals who are more capable and aware of their practice to intervene in/through movement? This question was broken down into the following objectives: to analyze the path lived with dance before and during the undergraduate course in Physical Education, seeking to understand the interfaces of these experiences for personal and professional training; and to discuss the importance of dance in schools as a possibility of training and educating in/through movement. The research combined with narrative and memory allowed us to revisit the past and reflect on the experiences lived with dance. The analysis of the journey with dance revealed spaces for self-knowledge, overcoming and reflections on the pedagogical practice of dance in schools. Our analyses indicate that dance, when integrated with sensitive and intentional pedagogical practices that value student participation and are mediated by listening to the body, whether at school or university, can contribute to the formation of teachers who are more aware, empathetic and sensitive to different cultures, subjects and contexts.

This study aimed to analyze, through a narrative literature review, the effects of physical activity during pregnancy, considering both physiological and psychosocial aspects. The research was based on twenty studies published between 2020 and 2025, selected for their relevance and alignment with the topic. The methodology involved the collection, critical reading, and synthesis of the main findings of these studies, focusing on their methodological approaches, objectives, results, and conclusions. The analysis revealed that physical activity during pregnancy is associated with several benefits for the health of both the mother and the fetus, including the prevention of obstetric complications, reduced risk of gestational diabetes, weight control, improved cardiorespiratory and muscular endurance, as well as enhanced emotional well-being and women's autonomy. The selected studies featured methodological diversity, including quantitative and qualitative approaches, observational and experimental designs, literature reviews, and technical-normative documents. It was also noted that most studies focused on white, middle-class women living in urban areas, revealing a significant gap in the representation of historically marginalized groups. The discussion also addressed the conceptual differentiation between physical activity, physical exercise, and body practices, emphasizing the importance of understanding these practices within an expanded health perspective. It is concluded that the promotion of physical activity during pregnancy should be conducted in a humanized manner, considering each woman’s specificities, social and cultural context, and supported by public policies that ensure access to information, professional guidance, and respectful care throughout the gestational process.

The supervised internship in teacher education programs is an integral part of the training of future educators, serving as a key moment in the process of learning how to teach. During this period, students in training face numerous challenges. This study aims to identify the main pedagogical difficulties encountered by Physical Education students within the context of their internships. Specifically, it seeks to identify the challenges observed during their teaching practices and to highlight the proposed solutions for overcoming these challenges from the perspective of the interns themselves. This is a documentary study based on the analysis of eight final reports from Internship Stages 3 and 4 at the Faculty of Physical Education and Dance of the Federal University of Goiás, produced in 2024. The structure of the analyzed reports includes the following sections: Introduction; School Characterization; Discussions and Syntheses; Final Considerations; References; Appendices and Attachments. The reports cover key topics such as the first contact with the school and students, difficulties encountered during teaching practice, strategies to address these difficulties, and reflections on the internship experience. Following a careful and standardized review of all the reports, the following discussion axes were established: 1) First Contact with the School and Students; 2) Difficulties Encountered During Teaching Practice; and 3) Possibilities for Addressing the Difficulties. The results indicate that the main challenges faced by the students were insecurity, undisciplined classes, and the disconnection between theory and practice. It is concluded that the Mandatory Supervised Internship is a valuable opportunity to engage with the real context of school work and to put into practice some of the theoretical knowledge acquired during the undergraduate program. However, the numerous difficulties perceived by the interns highlight the need for certain changes in the curricular structure of teacher education programs.

This work investigated methodological approaches for teaching dance to children, with an emphasis on promoting children's protagonism, sensitive listening and valuing playfulness. The research was developed through a bibliographical review, using books, scientific articles and official documents in the field of education as its main sources. The objective was to analyze the methodologies that favor a more dialogical, participatory pedagogical practice and aligned with the specificities of childhood. The results indicated that pedagogical practices that encourage creation, improvisation and body expression are fundamental for dance to become a meaningful language for children. It was also evidenced that the use of resources such as imitation and technical dance teaching, when mediated in an intentional and sensitive way, can collaborate with the dance teaching process, as long as they do not overlap or nullify the children's inventive capacity. Finally, the role of the teacher as mediator stands out, planning situations that allow children to develop their autonomy, expressiveness and authorship in dance productions with them. It is concluded that the integration of dance into the educational context requires intentionality from the teacher and methodologies that respect children's inventiveness and protagonism, contributing to more meaningful and inclusive practices.

This study aimed to answer the following research question: Which technical-tactical indicators are described as determinants of team performance in 3x3 Basketball in the scientific literature? Accordingly, the general objective was to identify and analyze scientific articles that investigated the technical-tactical performance indicators of 3x3 Basketball, also considering, when possible, comparisons with the technical-tactical indicators of 5x5 Basketball. This is a qualitative research study, following the format of a literature review and mapping of scientific production. As a strategy, a search was conducted in the Google Scholar database for articles that addressed 3x3 Basketball according to FIBA’s official rules, presented some indicator related to the technical-tactical demands of the sport, and were published between the years 2020 and 2025. After the first selection stage, a total of twenty-five (25) documents were identified. A preliminary analysis was carried out by reading the title, abstract, and keywords, revealing that in nine (9) of the documents, technical-tactical aspects were not present, one (1) was found only in the form of a thesis, one (1) was not available in its full version and one (1) was excluded for providing inaccurate information regarding the occurrence of the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympic Games. Thus, a total of thirteen (13) documents remained, from which the objectives, methods, and main scientific findings of each study were described. The results indicate that 3x3 Basketball demands higher intensity actions, quicker decision making, and greater offensive tactical variability among winning teams. The analysis of the studies shows that teams with better performance in 3x3 Basketball stand out due to shooting efficiency, the use of collective plays involving all three players, the emphasis on 2-point shots, and high offensive efficiency following both offensive and defensive rebounds.

This study aims to investigate, through a narrative review, the relationship between vigorexia — also known as muscle dysmorphia — and the use of anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS). The research followed a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach, based on the analysis of scientific articles found in Google Scholar, published in Portuguese over the last 15 years. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, six studies were selected that addressed the sociocultural, psychological, and physiological aspects related to the disorder and the use of steroids. The findings reveal that the pursuit of an idealized body, strongly influenced by media and societal standards, is associated with body dissatisfaction and the development of compulsive behaviors, such as excessive training and self-medication with AAS. Most studies indicated that vigorexia symptoms often precede the use of steroids, although some cases showed that these substances intensified the symptoms. Furthermore, the psychological effects of prolonged AAS use include dependency, mood swings, anxiety, and low self-esteem. The analysis also suggests a relationship between socioeconomic factors and access to anabolic substances. In this context, it is concluded that vigorexia and the use of anabolic steroids form a complex relationship that demands attention from health and physical education professionals, both for prevention and intervention strategies.

Methods: This is a literature review. The search was conducted in March 2025 through the Virtual Health Library Periodicals Portals.of the Brazilian Ministry of Health (BVS), covering academic publications from 2010 to 2025. The following descriptors and their Boolean combinations were used: “jiu-jitsu” OR “jiu jitsu” AND “injuries” OR “athlete injuries” AND “prevalence” OR “occurrence” OR “frequency” OR “incidence” OR “epidemiology”, as well as other variations of these terms. Inclusion criteria were: original articles with full texts available online; publications in Portuguese and English; studies that exclusively addressed Jiu-Jitsu as the object of investigation; papers that presented, in the title, abstract, and body of the text, information about the prevalence of injuries, their clinical characteristics, and the profile of the affected practitioners. A total of 6 studies were selected for review. Data were organized into thematic categories, including: type of injury, affected body region, training duration, injury severity, techniques most associated with trauma occurrence, and practitioner profiles such as age and gender. Results: The selected articles indicated a high prevalence of injuries in the practice of Jiu-Jitsu, with studies showing that 9 out of 10 participants sustained at least one injury in the past 24 months. The most commonly injured site was the knee, followed by shoulders, elbows, ankles, and fingers. The severity of the injuries ranged from moderate to severe, with most athletes requiring medical attention and a recovery period of 30 to 60 days. The most common types of injuries were sprains, strains, and dislocations. Joint locks were the most frequently cited mechanism of injury, with most injuries resulting from received techniques. The most injurious techniques identified were arm locks, leg locks, shoulder locks, and takedowns. The upper limbs were the most affected body region. Injuries occurred most frequently during training sessions. Practitioner characteristics varied, with the majority being male and beginners, typically white or blue belts. Conclusion: The prevalence of injuries in Jiu-Jitsu is high, making it essential for all those involved in the sport to understand and be aware of injury risks in order to make the practice as safe as possible.
