Resumo

The present study deals with sport in the pedagogical projects of undergraduate Physical Education courses (PPC) at public universities. The general objective was to investigate the presence of sports disciplines and disciplines that add the term sport to their respective titles, considering the new curricular proposals produced based on the National Curricular Guidelines for undergraduate courses in Physical Education (CNE 06/2018) . In turn, the specific objectives were: (1) verify the quantity, workload and percentages allocated to these subjects in relation to the total hours of the curricula; (2) analyze the distribution of these subjects in the curriculum stages (common and specific); (3) analyze the ways in which these subjects are offered (mandatory, optional and elective); and (4) compare the presence of these disciplines in the degree and/or bachelor's degree. The methodological approach is qualitative in nature, focusing on the technique of document analysis. The documents used as a data source were the PPCs of undergraduate courses in Physical Education from eight public Higher Education Institutions of a state and federal nature. Sports disciplines (sports disciplines) were examined, as well as disciplines that add the term ‘sport’ to the title. The results point to a diversity in the quantity and number of hours allocated to sports disciplines or that add the term sport to their respective titles. The data shows that the total course hours are not, in general, related to the number of subjects of this nature. UFTM, which has the lowest total C. H. (2,200 h), has the 3rd highest C. H. in these disciplines (870 h – bachelor's degree). In relation to the stages offered (common and specific), the results present varieties in the distribution of sports disciplines and/or which add the term sport to their respective titles. "Athletics" is the most recurrent discipline in the common stage, absent only in the UERR. Other recurring subjects are: "Volleyball"; "Football and/or Futsal" and "Basketball", which appear in the common stage of some HEIs and in the specific stage of others, highlighting the prominence of these disciplines in training. Regarding the presence of subjects, the bachelor's degree has more emphasis on these subjects, reaching up to 30% of the total curriculum (UFTM), with emphasis on the Sports/Sports Training subject that is not only offered at UERR. Finally, optional and elective subjects that deal with sports or that add the term sport to their titles have a considerable space in the PPC, especially in the bachelor's degree. At the same time, we noticed a process of inclusion of new disciplines linked to sports content, but which do not necessarily deal with sports, suggesting an expansion of discussions on sports topics. At the end of this research, it was possible to notice that the allocation of hours dedicated to sports disciplines varies between HEIs, reflecting a dynamic search for solidification of the area and its objects of study.
