A paisagem como elemento de análise: mesopotâmia dos rios Araguaia e Peixe, Goiás

Resumo

This article presents some of the results of research projects carried out in the Mesopotamia of the Araguaia and Peixe rivers, and based on the analyses of spatial distribution of archaeological sites, points of interest and the excavation of the Can-gas I and Lago Rico sites. These analyses allowed to present some considerations and the building of hypotheses related with the appropriation, construction and uses of the landscape by pre-colonial groups in this region. As this text approaches different perspectives, antagonisms and attempts of analytical approaches, the landscape also fits into this context, and can be positively discussed through different theoretical paradigms. In this sense, it can establish itself as a rich venue for Archaeology. To approach the appropriation and construction of landscape ultimately involve dealing with the relationship between people and landscape. This piece explores the tensions created by these different readings, seeking to point out the analytical alternatives that can be used to interpret the vast array of different archaeological information related to the Mesopotamia.
