Resumo
The concrete plants are facing the challenge of increasing production,
reducing the volume of waste generated. Its main activities require considerable
volumes of water at the same time, should not be dismissed on the ground or
collecting networks, they could generate risks to the environment. Thus, this article
aims to evaluate the frequency and risk of the activities of the concrete plant on the
use of water. In addition, monitor the quality of water treatment system for pH and
turbidity. To this end, we applied the method of the Activity Risk Assessment
together with in situ observations to better represent the actions of a conventional
production day. The survey was conducted by six random days for three consecutive
weeks. To evaluate the quality of wastewater pH and turbidity, always on the last
day of production of the plant were monitored, representing the worst case. The
results showed that washing of trucks is the activity that presents the greatest risk
to the environment, because it happens more often within the space of production.
The current system cannot remove turbidity for allocation of water to the reuse
while maintaining the pH above 12.
