A capacidade de financiamento das redes públicas municipais de educação básica do Tocantins

Abstract

This article analyzes the funding capacity of basic education in the municipalities of Tocantins, measured using the indicator of Potential Revenue for Basic Education per student-month (RPEB per student-month). The research is descriptive in nature, with a quantitative approach, using secondary data related to the 139 municipalities of Tocantins, with a temporal cut-off in the year 2019. The results of the descriptive analysis suggest that there are different levels of investment capacity in education in the municipal networks of Tocantins. The bivariate analysis showed no significant correlations between the context variables and teaching supply conditions and the RPEB per student-month. The results do not indicate where the data are concentrated that produce the different levels of capacity among the municipal networks analyzed, requiring more in-depth studies to understand how and why funding capacity inequalities occur.Este artículo analiza la capacidad de financiamiento de la educación básica de los municipios de Tocantins, medida a partir del indicador de Ingresos Potenciales parala Educación Básica por alumno-mes (RPEB por alumno-mes). La investigación es de naturaleza descriptiva, con un enfoque cuantitativo, utilizando datos secundarios relacionados con los 139 municipios tocantinenses, con un corte temporal del año 2019. Los resultados del análisis descriptivo sugieren que hay diferentes niveles de capacidad de inversión en educación en las redes municipales de Tocantins. El análisis bivariado mostró que no hay correlaciones significativas entre las variables de contexto y condiciones de oferta de enseñanza y la RPEB por alumno-mes. Los resultados no indican dónde están concentrados los datos que producen los diferentes niveles de capacidad entre las redes municipales analizadas, siendo necesarios estudios más profundos para comprender cómo y por qué ocurren las desigualdades de capacidad de financiamiento.
