| dc.description.abstract | This experiment investigated the vertebral formula of an adult male of jacaré-açu (Melanosuchus niger), belonging of the laboratory of animal anatomy of the Federal University of Tocantins. The vertebrae were chemically macerated and were counted manually by vertebral segment (cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral and caudal), also was measured using a tape measure in millimeters the length of the spine and body length longitudinal of the reptile. It was concluded that the animal has 07 cervical vertebrae as in mammals, 11 thoracic vertebrae, 06 lumbar, 02 sacral, as in other reptiles and caudal spinal segment consists of 26 vertebrae was the greatest and most vertebrae. | pt_BR |
| dc.description.resumo | Foi estudada a fórmula vertebral de um exemplar adulto macho de jacaré-açu (Melanosuchus niger) pertencente ao laboratório de anatomia animal da Universidade Federal do Tocantins. As vértebras sofreram processo de maceração química e foram contadas, manualmente, por segmento vertebral (cervical, torácico, lombar, sacral e caudal), além disso, foi medido com o auxílio de uma fita métrica milimetrada o comprimento total da coluna vertebral e comprimento corporal longitudinal do réptil. Concluiu-se que, o jacaré possui 07 vértebras cervicais como ocorre em mamíferos, 11 vértebras torácicas, 06 lombares, 02 sacrais como em outros répteis estudados e o segmento vertebral caudal formado por 26 vértebras caudais foi o maior de todos e com mais vértebras. | pt_BR |
