| dc.description.abstract | This essay treats the Brazilian Social History, produced from the end of 20th to the beginning of 21th Centuries, based on a reflection about the notions of labor, laborers and social movements. At first, analyzes the historiography that started studying industrial labor history and, after, expanded its scope to investigate labor history, culminating in researches about laborers and their daily lives. In a second moment, discuss the inclusion of social movements to the group of interesting themes for the area. Therefore, thinks about the notion of Social History – without intentions to create a definitive concept –, at the same time, discuss the impact of the area’s enlargement on the use of documents in research. Holds that the Social History is still current and offers big contributions to the historiography, although faces new challenges too. | |
| dc.description.resumo | O artigo lança olhares sobre a História Social brasileira de fins do século XX e princípios do século XXI, com base na problematização dos conceitos trabalho, trabalhadores/as e movimentos sociais. Em um primeiro momento, analisa a historiografia que partiu do estudo da história operária para, posteriormente, alargar seu escopo e investigar a história do trabalho, culminando em pesquisas sobre o cotidiano de trabalhadores/as. Em um segundo momento, discute a incorporação dos movimentos sociais ao rol de temas de interesse da área. Para tanto, reflete sobre o próprio conceito de História social – sem pretensões de categorizá-la de maneira definitiva –, ao passo que discute ainda as implicações de tal alargamento da área para o trato das fontes de pesquisa. Defende que a História Social permanece atual e oferece contribuições à historiografia, embora também enfrente novos desafios. | |
