dc.description.abstractA significant population of foreigners inhabits the cinematographic narratives since the beginning of times. Especially the fictional-scientific ones, which have reserved privileged representation spaces of the other, or the others, to whom monstrous nature is attributed. In the battles against these enemies, the communities self-appointed as us, representatives of the humanity, are in fact restricted to the social groups that hold the highest economical, technological and armed power. In the narratives analyzed in this article, the North-American society appears as the representative of humanity as a whole, in the battle against the threat brought by the others, who might well be the neighbors, immigrants, blacks, any foreigner, from unknown lands or from its own. All of them, aliens, allegedly invasive, against whom the attack is the best defense strategy.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoUma população significativa de estrangeiros habita as narrativas cinematográficas desde os primeiros tempos. Sobretudo as científico-ficcionais, que têm reservado lugares privilegiados de representação do outro, ou dos outros, aos quais são atribuídas naturezas monstruosas. Nos embates contra esses inimigos, as comunidades auto-referidas como nós, representantes da humanidade, efetivamente restringem-se aos grupos sociais que detêm maior poder econômico, tecnológico e bélico. Nas narrativas analisadas neste artigo, a sociedade norte-americana aparece como representante da humanidade em sua totalidade, na luta contra a ameaça trazida pelos outros, que podem ser vizinhos, imigrantes, negros, quaisquer estrangeiros, oriundos de territórios desconhecidos, ou de seus próprios territórios. Todos esses, aliens, supostamente ameaçadores, contra os quais o ataque é a melhor estratégia de defesa.pt_BR
