Operações de Barter: estudos relevantes e potenciais lacunas de pesquisa no agronegócio

Abstract

Barter operations refer to the most primitive of trades, bartering, that is, exchanging products, properties, services for other products or services without using money. In Brazilian agribusiness, barter operations became popular in the mid-1990s due to a reduction in the number of public agents in the rural credit market, opening space for private financing. Since then, grain producers have been able to opt for contracts to exchange inputs for grains. As it is a relevant topic for agriculture, whose theory is under construction, empirical research of an exploratory nature has focused on the reasons, advantages, and disadvantages of these operations. However, some theoretical gaps present in these studies need to be investigated. In this regard, this research contributed to the literature by achieving the general objective of building a dense portfolio of high-impact articles on bartering using the InOrdinatio ordering method, which considers the journal's Impact Factor, the number of citations and year of publication. As a result, supported by international studies, suggestions for new studies were proposed.
