A experimentação no ensino de química para deficientes visuais com o uso de tecnologia assistiva: o termômetro vocalizado

Resumo

Technology can bring many possibilities to help people with physical impairment. Visually impaired people organize their knowledge as any other individual, as long as they have been introduced to objective world considering their specificity. In this paper, we introduce the use of assistive technology for visually impaired students as a cultural tool in an experiment about extraction of coffee involving the concept of temperature. The results point that the chemistry teaching not only lacks teacher to work within inclusion but also technology resources to work with visually impaired in any level of education. The results also point that the experiments mediation in support classes with the use of assistive technology allow the visually impaired to manipulate variables, realize measures and approach knowledge starting from the content seen in regular classes and from collected data during activity from the remaining senses.
