Resumo

BEHAVIOR OF FOUR GERMAN POTATO VARIETIES IN RELATION TO COMMON SCAB (Streptomyces scabies (TaxtJ Waks. Henrici). For German potato varieties Delta-A, Hansa, Hydra and Tondra were tested on their resistence to common scab (Streptomyces scabies). This triai was carried out, at Goiânia, state of Goiás, with tubers harvested from the first planting of imported seed potatoes. in the so-called dry season (March to August). The four varieties differed significantly each other in resistence to common scab. Hansa was found to be the most resistent, followed by Tondra, Delta-A and Hydra. The last one showed a large number of tubers misshaded by scab infestion.
