Resumo

We started with the dialogic conceptions of Bakhtin / Volochínov (1995) and we undertook as our theoretical foundation, the genealogical axis of the historical-philosophical analysis of Foucault (1995, 2003, 2010) to investigate the issue of power. To this author, the conception of power is not limited to the imposition of law and repression, but it is seen in as a way of regulating society and normalizing the population as a whole and the individuals in particular. Thus, if the institutionalized powers control the streets, applying graffiti on the walls becomes a form of countervailing power and endurance. The subject of the discourse, in our case, the graffiti artist of urban areas, not always passively accepts regulation and resists controlling techniques. We found that these graffiti artists take advantage of public visibility to sign encrypted messages, and make their voices heard, in protest against such a controlled society. Our goal in this article is to see how the reactions of resistance to the norms of urban graffiti artists have become increasingly normalized and standardized, weakening its power of resistance. Since the beginning of the XXI century, we realize that several inscriptions begin to set aside actions of marking territory and display of boldness to make graffiti on demand.
