Abstract

The article discusses the concept of religion in Mikhail Bakunin, anarchist thinker, aiming to show how he understood the genesis and meaning of religious phenomena. Therefore, it uses the works in which he analyzed the religious phenomenon and notes that it is closely linked to the positivist influences on his thinking and his conception of human nature. The idea that the origin of religion is related to the ability to abstract ends up being the foundation of their position on religion and its political significance, as well as derivative, in relation to the State.
