Estimativa de viabilidade econômica do uso de energia fotovoltaica em pivô central no estado de Goiás

Resumo

Central pivot irrigation system is the main irrigation system used in the state of Goiás, Brazil, especially due the production characteristics of the region, with large areas cultivated mainly by annual crops, flat and uniform relief, high technification and mechanization and water availability. Despite the potential for expansion of the irrigated area by up to 10 times, there are some obstacles that hinder this growth, one of them is the low availability of electricity. One of the ways to solve this problem is the use of photovoltaic energy, since the average total annual insolation in the state of Goiás exceeds two thousand hours. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the economic feasibility of photovoltaic energy’s use in central pivot in the state of Goiás. For this, a simulation was performed considering an irrigated area of 76.20 ha per central pivot (average area in the state of Goiás), in successive cultivation of soybean, corn and industrial tomato. The production costs were calculated using the Amazonsaf software for a 25 years project (photovoltaic system life) and a minimum attractiveness rate of 7.0 %. The technical production coefficients obtained from the FAEG and the financial indicators were calculated: net present value (NPV), net income (NI), internal rate of return (IRR), cost benefit relation (C/B) and payback. The results showed that there is economic viability of the project independent of the energy’s source used, traditional electric or solar photovoltaic. The NPV obtained was of R$ 2,339.66 ha-1 year-1 and R$ 1,644.50 ha-1 year-1, NI of R$ 5,925.47 ha-1 year-1 and R$ 5,743.61 ha-1 year-1, IRR of 60.31 % and 33.85 %, C/B of 1.37 and 1.24, and payback of 4.7 and 7.4 years for traditional and photovoltaic electricity, respectively. It was observed that for the system operated with photovoltaic energy there is an increase in the production cost of 9.98 % in relation to the system operated by traditional electric power, and the profitability reduces in the order of 3.07%.
