Obsolescência linguística em Xerente Akwén: diglossia, empréstimo e codeswitching

| dc.description.resumo | Diglossia, empréstimo e codeswitching são considerados como algumas das principais ameaças para as línguas indígenas quando em contato com línguas não indígenas e de maior prestígio, geralmente a língua oficial da nação. Embora, por vezes, invisíveis aos seus falantes, os empréstimos e codeswitchings podem permear a língua indígena a tal ponto que seja quase impossível distinguir qual delas é a língua base. Este artigo trata destes temas junto à língua Xerente Akwén, povo indígena altamente bilíngue. O Xerente Akwén é uma língua indígena da família Jê, falada por 3.600 pessoas no estado de Tocantins, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados durante viagens a campo no ano de 2010. Observações, entrevistas pessoais e questionários foram recentemente descritos, analisados e mensurados através de um modelo estatístico. Os resultados mostram que há um grande número de empréstimos e codeswitchings feitos principalmente pelos mais jovens causando uma situação de diglossia. A obsolescência da língua indígena permanece uma questão em aberto a ser respondida. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Diglossia, borrowing and codeswitching are considered to be one of the major threats to indigenous languages when in contact to non indigenous and prestigious languages, generally the official language of a country. Although sometimes invisible to their speakers, borrowings and codeswitchings pervade the indigenous language to a point that it is almost impossible to distinguish which of them is the basic language. This article deals such subjects with the Xerente Akwén, a highly bilingual people. The Xerente Akwén is an indigenous language of the Jê family, spoken by 3,600 individuals of the same name in the state of Tocantins, Brazil. The data were collected at the local during the year of 2010 through observations, face to face interviews and questionnaires. The questionnaires were measured by using a statistical design. The results show that there is a massive number of borrowings and codeswitchings made mainly by the youngest individuals causing a situation of diglossia. Obsolescence of the language remains as an open question to be answered. | pt_BR |
