CEU VI: uma proposta de habitação estudantil voltada para UFG

Resumo

The expansion of access to higher education in Brazil over recent decades has highlighted the need for policies and infrastructure capable of ensuring not only student admission but also their retention at universities. Among the main challenges faced by students in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability is access to adequate housing, especially for those coming from other municipalities. In this context, this undergraduate thesis proposes the development of a student housing complex near the Samambaia Campus of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), in Goiânia, as a strategy to support student retention and strengthen the relationship between the university and the city. The work is based on a bibliographical review, analysis of institutional data regarding the demand for student housing, site survey and diagnosis, as well as the investigation of case studies. The architectural proposal seeks to provide quality housing associated with spaces for social interaction, study, leisure, and academic support, promoting social integration, a sense of belonging, and quality of life for students. The project adopts solutions focused on universal accessibility and the enhancement of collective spaces, understanding student housing as an environment for education, coexistence, and human development. Therefore, the study aims to demonstrate the potential of architecture as a tool for social inclusion and student retention.
