Resumo

This article aims to analyze the state of Goias under the scope of its socio-spatial effervescence. Goias is living an arduous process of urbanization in its regional proximity to the major centers: Brasilia and Goiania. In this sense, it is necessary to discuss the micro region surrounding Brasilia, an area of great economic growth that surfaces grave problems of a social order such as: unemployment, vio-lence, and socio-spatial segregation. Therefore, it becomes relevant to verify the socio-spatial contradictions in this area that urges to be studied and understood in its most contradicting nuances. The steps to understanding the socio-spatial metamorphosis in this micro region were, at first, the minute gathering of bibliographic data, seeking to thrust the theoretical basis of methodology towards its de-velopment. The statistic data was then analyzed along with the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the Treasury Department of the State of Goias (Secretaria da Fazenda), as well as with the respective county halls that compose the micro region around Brasilia. This study proves relevant due to the fact that unequal and combined appropriation of Brazilian space generates the social corol-lary of the developmentalist outlook where regions dispute resources, infra-structure and economic borders, that is, so that the capital may be installed and reproduced.
