Resumo
Currently, sport is in growing evolution within Higher Education Institutions. In this sphere, student organizations, managed by academics, created their own sporting competitions. This fact is already a reality in several cities in Brazil, including Goiânia, and we have as an example the Inter, Internal Games of the Federal University of Goiás, the focus of this study. This competition includes a sports dispute, between batteries and parties, and is considered one of the biggest university sports events in the Midwest region. The main objective of the work is to understand how Inter's organization and management process takes place, with the main focus on the 2019 edition. As a tool to carry out this research, research focused on sports, university sports and semi-structured interviews with those responsible for two companies that organize the event, Liga Inter and B2 Agência. As a result, we found important points and highlighted some: all Athletics from the Federal University of Goiás can participate in the event following the criteria indicated by the Inter League; there is a vote to select the Atléticas to compose the Organizing Committee of each edition, these chosen Atléticas aim to manage the event together with B2 Agência; B2 Agência is a company hired by Liga Inter with the objective of organizing and managing the event as a whole; funding for the event as a whole comes 100% from ticket and package sales; finally, the event no longer has links with the Federal University of Goiás, however, there is still a close relationship between them. We can conclude that the event acts as a great encourager of university sports within the Atléticas of the Federal University of Goiás, encouraging sports practices among students, greater socialization, health promotion, etc.
