Neochanchada: caminhos para a construção de uma comédia à brasileira

Abstract

Culture and communication are concepts with a multiplicity of definitions which use the theoretical basis of the social sciences for their understanding. After presenting different variations of culture - erudite, popular and mass culture - in relation to the neochanchada, we aim to answer the epistemological question of what Brazilian popular culture becomes, based on the conception of authors of Cultural Studies, such as Martín-Barbero (2009) and Canclini (2011). In this sense, the study approaches the concept of culture, the interfaces between cinema and television, and the technological changes in audiovisual.
