Habitar um bairro: pensando o lazer e o espaço público no Residencial Recanto do Bosque

Abstract

The history of the formation of the Northwest Region of Goiânia is marked by a series of chaotic and violent events, starting in the 1970s. Amid this process, several neighborhoods emerged through public and private initiatives, including the Residencial Recanto do Bosque in 1997. The neighborhood faces numerous problems related to infrastructure and the availability of public services, including the lack of quality leisure facilities. In addition to being a legally guaranteed right, leisure is essential for cultural expression and the enjoyment of free time, serving as an indicator of quality of life in cities. In Recanto do Bosque, the reality is the opposite, with a lack of basic facilities and spaces abandoned by the public authorities, forcing the population to go to distant neighborhoods in search of basic services. In this context, it is understood that living in a neighborhood also involves having access to such resources, creating identification and connection with the public space. Thus, the goal is to propose a space that contributes to solving these issues, based on field, documentary, historical, and bibliographic research.
