Transmissão vertical do HIV: informações das gestantes atendidas em uma maternidade pública de Goiânia-GO

Resumo

We know that the women today, mainly those in their fecund age, have been the target of contamination by the HIV virus that has contributed to a fearsome form to the increase of the number of cases in newborns. AIDS, once identified and treated prematurely, reduces the risk of perinatal transmission. Being the women favored by an arrangement more susceptible to the transmissible sexually diseases, the incidence of the risk of HIV virus transmission is preoccupying and it requires special attention, principally in the pregnant patient, as the well-being of the fetus and the other children are also at risk. This poll was realized at a Public Maternity in Goiânia-Go in october/1999, with the aim of verifying the pregnant women's knowledge about the HIV vertical transmission, as well as knowing what they think about the realization of the HIV test during the prenatal. Starting from the analysis of the results of the pool, it was confirmed that from the interviewed patients, 96% knew what AIDS is and 94% knew the risk of a vertical transmission. A hundred per cent (100%) of them agreed with the realization of the HIV test, from this percentage, 60% made the test and from those, only 18% were oriented by the health team that attended them, the others, received information in another way. We concluded that the pregnant women know what HIV is and how it is transmitted, and that is lacking interest form the health professionals to happen a better attendance.
