Microtomografia computadorizada na avaliação do preparo do canal radicular: uma análise crítica

Abstract

A variety of devices and methods have been described for the in vitro evaluation of the root canal preparation. However, the majority of these studies has limitations as destruction of the specimens and impedes the si- multaneous investigation of different parameters of root canal preparation. The microcomputed tomography, non-invasive technique, allows to visualize the morphologic characteristics of the root canal three-dimensio- nally. Also, the μCT offers reproductive data which possibilities the comparison of the shape of root canal before and after preparation. The aim of this study was to perform a critical analysis of the μCT as method to evaluate the root canal preparation by review of the literature.
