Abstract

This research aims to answer the question: “What color do I feel?” Through investigation of the use and importance of color as a language since childhood and its primordial role in art. Throughout my artistic practice of drawing and painting, I seek to understand the relationship between colors and my emotions, while also examining how other artists throughout history have also seen color as a form of emotional expression. Ranging from the 17th century, with influences from authors such as Isaac Newton, Denis Diderot and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, to the contemporary studies of Eva Heller. I delve deeper into the productions of artists such as William Turner, Van Gogh, Kandinsky and Yves Klein. The research includes the use of the written word as part of the process, presenting itself in a poetic and artistic way. Furthermore, the work is structured as an illustrated book in order to enhance the proposed theme, and it is important to highlight that it is based on my personal experiences as someone who does not have any visual dysfunction that interferes with color perception.
