Resumo
The present work shows the impact of information technology in human relations and in the production, organization and use of knowledge, the new questions generated by the virtuality and by the "digital culture", the use of the Internet on interpersonal relations and the production of knowledge, the new forms of network activity and what is the role of virtual communities, and how the social collaboration is used as a principle to increase the efficiency of communication. In this context, cyberspace is a crucial factor in improving the social and cultural capital available.
