Para onde vai o mundo: uma leitura histórico-espacial da BR-070

Abstract

Geographical researches and studies of common themes as a road system, transportation facilities, networks of flows, rhythms of outflowing, interregional mobility, spatial logistics, currently take on the centrality of interests, theoretical perspectives, and varied methodological approaches. Something gets them together: since the classic studies, which includes those that investigate the contemporary hypermobility, are made upon historical analysis. It means they claim that from the recognition that there is a link between territorial dynamics of the road system and the historical contexts in which they are accomplished. By this point, it may be possible to understand the strategic dimension of the construction of roads or redirecting for other roads. This is the case of the BR-070 highway that occupied, in several historical times, also different roles. By these statements, it is important to ask: how the roads inserted in the Cerrado biome, specifically the BR-070 highway, established itself in the territorial dynamics of the Cerrado? With this in mind, a group of researchers developed, during four years, a collection of data gathering; organization of colloquiums and seminars; fieldworks; construction of theoretical principles which resulted in a plentiful academic production, whose this work is part of.
