Geopatrimônio do centro histórico da Cidade de Goiás-GO

Abstract

Geoheritage represents the portion of geodiversity that possesses exceptional values attributed to scientific, educational, aesthetic, and cultural characteristics. This research inventoried the geoheritage of the historical center of the city of Goiás, a city recognized by UNESCO in 2001 as a World Heritage Site, through the selection of geosites and diagnosis of the main rocks used in them. The information obtained was compiled into a geotourism itinerary, with the objective of disseminating the in-situ and ex-situ geoheritage, encouraging geotourism and contributing to its geoconservation.
