Resumo
João Cabral is considered, alongside Manuel Bandeira and Carlos Drummond de Andrade,
as one of the main poetic traditions convened and qualified by contemporary Brazilian poets. Among
these poets there are not only those who claim to have a cabralina affiliation or are recognized as heirs
of the poet, but also others who maintain with Cabral a tense and creative relationship. This seems to
be the case of Marcos Siscar, who, in his critical and poetic work, stands on the figuration of the self
and the mode of composition, which are central questions for Cabral. It’s about these two problems
that I propose to examine how Siscar productively appropriates Cabral’s legacy.
