Resumo
Swine is considered as the main reservoir species
and major disseminator of Aujeszky’s Virus Disease. This
experiment was accomplished to study the Aujeszky’s Virus
Disease prevalence in sera of producing female swine from
production systems providing the market at Goiânia. Blood
samples were collected from 40 complete cycle swine
production systems, in a total of 829 serum samples. The
samples were subjected to ELISA test. The results showed
that 811 (97.83%) samples were negative for the Aujeszky’s
Virus Disease and 18 (2.17%) were also positive to this test
and to the seroneutralization complementary test. It was
observed that the positive samples came from the extensive
production systems and the prevalence of 2.17% were
confirmed by the seroneutralization test.
