Resumo
This work proposes a sensitive approach to the practice of bathing in rivers in an urban area, linked to public
leisure areas in direct contact with nature, through the inextricable relationship between the City of Goiás and
Rio Vermelho. On the one hand, there is a lack of qualified public spaces for leisure in the city, but, on the
other hand, areas of great landscape potential that could be related to these uses, to be explored responsibly
and correctly from the point of view of from a socio-environmental point of view. In this context, the area of
Balneário Cachoeira Grande was chosen for the development of design studies of landscape and architectural
requalification, exploring one of the concepts of the spa as a public bathing space, based on the historical and
affective relationship that already exists between the residents of the city of Goiás and Rio Vermelho with the
aim of valuing this relationship today.
