Resumo
The project involves the development of an educational children’s book that uses illustrations and infographics to playfully teach students from 1st to 5th grade
about the morphology and cultural significance of corn in Brazil. It explores how visual communication can support the understanding of educational content,
stimulate curiosity, and foster critical thinking in young readers, using information design as its guiding framework. Based on the methodological approach proposed by Ravi Passos (2014), an original, functional, and pedagogically relevant graphic design project was developed, contributing to discussions on the role of design in early childhood education. The book features compositions with a variety of illustrations and interactive elements. In addition, theoretical and historical research was conducted on information design and on the book’s central theme, culminating in a printed mock-up of the final product.
