Abstract

Domestic and family violence has become the subject of many media. Communication vehicles contribute to the construction of society's collective memory. In this perspective, we address the role of communication, the complexity of public opinion and power conflicts in the context of narratives that seek to build and legitimize the discourse of symbolic violence. Thus, the discussion of the theme through communication bias becomes relevant. To this end, it is essential to analyze the integration or importance of media processes, the behavior of the media and state action through affirmative policies to combat domestic violence.
